Recommended for its application with young children. Promotes a very positive and affirming approach although the style may feel a little awkward for some. There is a heavy emphasis on choice to increase compliance.

Have a New Kid by Friday by Leman

Recommended for permissive parents wanting to change directions quickly. This is more of a jumpstart parenting approach than a long term parenting solution. He focuses on disciplining (removing privileges) without warning to bring about change. Good for older children.

Transforming the Difficult Child: The Nurtured Heart Approach by Glasser and Easley

Recommended for parents of kids with chronic behavior problems and resulting poor self-esteem. Focuses on noticing the exceptions, praise, and encouragement. He offers a great model of a positive reinforcement behavioral chart.

Six-Point Plan for Raising Happy, Healthy Children by Rosemond

Recommended for indulgent parents who focus too much energy and attention on the kids. Helps parents set priorities right by emphasizing the importance of marriage. Removal of privileges and traditional family values are emphasized.

The Highly Sensitive Child: Helping Our Children Thrive When the World Overwhelms Them by Aron
