The internet is full of helpful information for parents.  Sifting through it all, however, can be a daunting task.  So I have taken it upon myself to do some of the leg-work for you.  Below are some parenting-related websites that have the Cornerstones for Parents seal of approval.  If you have one you would like me to check out, and maybe add to the list, please feel free to contact us.

Food Sociologist, Dr. Dina Rose knows kids and the psychology behind their eating patterns.  Her website is full of helpful tips on how to handle even the pickiest of eater.  Her warm, engaging and non-dogmatic approach will be a comfort to frustrated parents.

This free publication is now available to parents online.  Just click on “issue archive” and then you can “flip” through the web version of this magazine and learn all about activities, events, schools, and fun family destinations in Connecticut.

A veritable smorgasbord of resources for Christian moms, this site has information ranging from devotionals to beauty tips.

Love Languages Assessment Tool

Here you will find an online version of Gary Champman’s famous Love Languages profile.  Whether you are a spouse, child, teen or single, there is a love language quiz for you.  Find out how you can better communicate love to those around you as well as the ways love is best shown to you.

Six Seeds

This charitable organization is a great resource for parents who are looking for a way to serve others as a family.  You can order your own “seed packet” and work together as a family to collect, pack and mail items to children and families in need all over the world.  Or you can check out their page on creative ways families can serve together today, this month and this year.

Empowering Parents

This site by James and Janet Lehman is a wonderful resource for parents of teens who are displaying oppositional behaviors.  They offer a no-nonsense approach to parenting that encourages parents to be clear, firm consistent and loving.

Happy Home Fairy

Need some creative ideas to add a little spark and fun back into your family’s day?  This site offers great family activities and cute crafts organized by season, holiday or event and is full of detailed instructions and pictures.

Passionate Purposeful Parenting

The purpose of this site is to encourage and help equip parents of young children by sharing Christian principles, godly wisdom and personal experiences.  They have a rotating schedule of guest bloggers (including yours truly!) and offer a wonderful printable prayer calender for parents.
