Parenting Through the Bible Series

Laura Kuehn, LCSW

People often ask me to recommend Christian a parenting book. There are a lot of options to choose from in answering that question. Just scan the internet or stand in the parenting section of your favorite book store or library and you, too, will be overwhelmed at the choices. But there is one book that stands out among the crowd:  The Bible.

But wait! But the Bible isn’t a parenting book!

My friend, this is simply not true.

While there are a few specific passages overtly directed at parents, the entire Bible is a gold mine of information on parenting just waiting to be uncovered.

In this upcoming series, I will be taking one truth from each book of the Bible and making a parenting connection. These connections may include:

  • practical parenting tips
  • a family devotional idea
  • a craft or activity
  • an encouraging insight
  • specific language to communicate God’s truths so little ears can understand the riches of God’s word

If you feel led, make it a goal to read through your Bible as we go through this series. Here are some great resources to help you get started:

Read through the Bible in one year (biblical order)

Read through the Bible in one year (chronological order)

Read through the Bible in one year (NT and OT each day)
