Laura Kuehn, MSW, LCSW
Hi! Thanks for visiting Cornerstones for Parents. My name is Laura Kuehn and I am a licensed clinical social worker and parenting expert. I have a Bachelor’s Degree (a major in Psychology and a minor in Sociology) as well as a Master’s Degree in Child and Family Social Work. I have been licensed to practice clinical social work in the state of Connecticut since 1999.
During the course of my career, I have worked in a variety of settings providing therapy to children and their families. I have helped families successfully address different struggles and issues, including general behavior disorders, post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD), anxiety and depression.
I have always enjoyed collaborating with parents and equipping them for this immensely important job they have been given. I consider it an honor and privilege when parents seek me out for help. I founded Cornerstones for Parents as a way to use my skills, minister to others and write on one of my favorite topics: parenting! I also love being able to have the flexibility to be home with my family as my kids (ages 5 and 9) grow up. Many of the tips and techniques I write about have been tried and tested on my very own children.
I love cooking, gardening (and cooking things that grow in my garden!), spending time with my family and friends, and studying God’s word. I am known for my high levels of organization, being a voice of reason, and asking lots of questions during movies!
Please feel free to contact me with any questions you may have. I would love to hear from you!
Blessings to you and yours,
~ Laura
